Knitting History Forum at the ATF
4th March, 2007.
Our stall at the Antique Textile Fair attracted considerable interest and many gratifying comments. We were almost the only exhibitors in the Guilds and Societies groups on the upper floor of the Armitage Centre concentrating on the history of textiles and showing some examples and reconstructions.
More than 100 colourful flyers were circulated to all the participants and dealers at the fair, as well as to the visitors; this made us many new associations and promises of links to others with similar interests. I have already had a number of contacts from them.
I am grateful to my helpful and patient assistant, John Stoker, who nobly stayed on duty throughout the day while I bustled about and also to Frances Tucker who spent some time helping to hold the fort. It was also kind of Indrika to travel so far to discuss in person some of our website problems. She has now sorted these and it is about to expand and improve.
Kirstie Buckland, Co-ordinator.
